#CHAPTER 2

One day in my dream I felt something strange - a smell. It is impossible to describe, and perhaps I don't need to, but I'll try. Imagine a rubber tire crushing raspberries on damp asphalt after the rain that just passed, imagined that? Now forget it. Next, my eyes opened. And then my heart. We realized what we had to do. The smell was the result of the collider inside the ship stopping and losing thrust while we were asleep, and being pulled by the gravity of a small planet. When we got to the surface, we took a sip of fresh oxygen for the first time in an unknown amount of time. In a minute, Mechanic was already studying the local flora.

How lucky were we! One in a million, death should have befallen us, and with it - the sunset of a beautiful era of our species. But it did not happen, so this further strengthened our belief that our mission is necessary.

On this planet, the Academy was born. We met [Terracosmico] - extremely intelligent humanoid creatures with a horizontal system of social management, which later became the inspiration for the Academy. After a while, we learned to understand each other. B16, as Mechanic called her, became our friend. Later during our stay on the planet, she shared with us the indescribable plans of a ship that could plow through space till the end of time and would hold exactly **** people. The blueprints and plans for the ship were insanely detailed, and it seemed folly that it hadn't been built yet. But there was a problem. The reason is that Terracosmico scientists never learned how to work with particles in oncoming beams. That stopped the construction process. However, we had been able to do it since we were kids.
